Murlac Sediment Mats are a natural and effective soft bio-engineered product manufactured in the UK by Murlac. They are designed to reduce turbidity, erosion and also to trap suspended sediment in shallow watercourses & ditches.

Suitable for use across a wide range of applications from temporary works on construction sites and more long term sediment containment and erosion control applications, often in conjunction with or range of silt waffles and silt curtains.

Murlac Sediment Mats are manufactured from 100% biodegradable high-strength natural coir and hessian fibres and spruce wood wool filling. The wood wool is layered  between two layers of a heavy duty hessian base cloth and a woven grid coir on top.

Placement of the Murlac Sediment Mats can allow for each 2m x 1m mat to capture more than 40kg of suspended sediment.

Murlac Sediment Mats are anchored onto the watercourse bed using local materials such as boulders and rocks or even Murlac Bio Pegs,  however can be supplied with integrated timber posts to allow for fixing using ground staples.
